Pizzeria Uno
Pizzeria Uno is the home of the deep-dish pizza--Uno's was the site of the original deep-dish pizza. Opened in 1943, Uno's founder Ike Sewell claims to have invented the deep-dish pizza by filling a circle pan with three-inch high sides full of pizza ingredients. Today Uno's, which has many locations around the country, offers a wide variety of Italian favorites, including pasta, chicken and sandwiches. Like your typical pizza parlor, Uno's is informal and requires only casual attire. However, pizzas can take up to 45 minutes to prepare, so you might want to call ahead and place your order before you go in.
