Restaurants in Passaic County, New Jersey
Passaic County is in the northernmost part of New Jersey, and consists of three main cities: Passaic, Clifton and Paterson. Passaic County is home to the Garret Mountain Reservation and Wawayanda State Park, both of which contain extensive trails that are ideal for hiking and mountain biking. In the wintertime, Garret Mountain is a popular destination for ice-skating. Whether you are on a tight budget and just want a snack or are looking to splurge on fine dining, Passaic County is home to a number of quality restaurants.

The Hot Grill

The Hot Grill is famous for its massive Texas-style hot dogs. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of sandwiches and salads, as well as a delicious chili with beans. In the morning, the Hot Grill serves a traditional American breakfast, with many combinations of eggs, toast, bacon, ham, sausage, pancakes, home fries and French toast. Unsurprisingly, it is a very laid-back, all-American diner type of place, where you can expect to see people from all walks of life.

E & V Ristorante

E & V Ristorante is a moderately-priced Italian and seafood restaurant, located in the town of Paterson. The restaurant offers a casual, family-friendly ambiance. If you're traveling with your family or in a group, try the Italian Abbondonza Table, which comes with an array of appetizers, penne pasta served with your choice of two sauces and three main entrées.

Buco Ristorante

The family that owns Buco Ristorante has been in the local restaurant business since 1973. Walking into the restaurant is like stepping foot inside a quaint Italian villa---it is relaxed, yet somewhat formal. They specialize in traditional Italian cuisine. Some of the stand-outs on their menu include the Veal Parmesan, Mussels in garlic white wine or red sauce, and Sliced Sirloin Black Forest.

The Wild Bull

The Wild Bull offers an attractive dinner menu that is also inexpensive. Steak is the name of the game here, and apparently the Wild Bull grills some of the finest in Passaic County. The rest of the menu consists of traditional American fare, such as meat loaf, ribs and pork tenderloin. Not a lot of options for vegetarians, except for large salad dishes. This place is very fun for kids, as the entire exteriors and interiors have been done up to resemble a wild west saloon.

Al-Basha Restaurant

Run by a friendly Palestinian gentleman, Al-Basha has been serving up delicious Middle Eastern cuisine to Passaic County denizens since 2002. If you're new to this type of cooking, ask for the Al-Basha Mazzah, which is a large plate containing many of the more popular appetizers, such as hummus, falafel and Tabbuleh. The atmosphere is warm, family-friendly and unpretentious.
