Motels & Cottages in Rockport, Massachusetts

Motels & Cottages in Rockport, Massachusetts
Rockport, Massachusetts, just 40 miles north of Boston and located at the tip of Cape Anne, is a popular tourist destination. Visitors are attracted by the many galleries, shops and famous landmarks seen in Hollywood movies that have been filmed in town (for example, "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock). Since there are no large hotels or hotel or motel chains in town, visitors who plan to stay overnight will experience the small-town charm of Rockport firsthand by staying in a family owned and operated motel or cottage.

Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge

This property is the only motel on Rockport's infamous "Bearskin Neck" (a strip of art galleries, cafes and shops leading out to a scenic ocean vista), making it a highly desirable and convenient location. Every room has unobstructed ocean views and a private balcony. Reserved parking is included in the room rate. This is a major perk of the motel as parking on Bearskin Neck is extremely scarce. Season of operation is May through October with rates ranging from $109 to $169 per night, as of 2009.

Captain's Bounty Motor Inn

Though this motel is pet and family friendly, there are some restrictions. Dogs are only allowed in rooms on the first floor and children are not allowed on the third floor to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for those who seek a quiet stay. The inn is open from early April through late October. There are three types of rooms: standard rooms with king or queen beds, larger rooms with fully equipped kitchens, and suites with two beds, a sofa and rollaway couch and fully equipped kitchen. All rooms have decks directly facing the ocean. Rates range between $120 and $205 per night as of 2009.
