Don's was founded and established as the city's first hotel and casino in 1966 on the banks of the Colorado River. Big Bend of the Colorado Recreation Area

Big Bend of the Colorado Recreation Area is a division of the Nevada State Park system and is located 5 miles south of Laughlin on the Needles Highway. It boasts 2 miles of Colorado River shoreline and is just downstream from the Davis Dam. There are 22 sites with electric and water hookups and restrooms with showers. Visitors will pay entrance fees to the park and additional fees for camping. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy picnicking, fishing, boating, fishing, swimming and wildlife viewing and bird watching.
