New York Ski Clubs

New York Ski Clubs
New York State is home to two mountain ranges, the Adirondacks and the Catskills. Each has its fare share of ski resorts and ski areas. Skiing with others is often more rewarding than sliding down the slopes solo. If you are new to skiing in New York, or looking for others to ski with, joining a ski club may be an option. New York is fortunate to have several wonderful options.

Finger Lakes Ski Club

Over 30 years ago, several skiers from Auburn, New York, decided to get together and form the Finger Lakes Ski Club. As the club formed, benefits included group skiing events and reduced lift fees. The Finger Lakes Ski Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, September through April at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 47 Market St., Auburn, New York. In addition to taking trips to local ski areas, the Finger Lakes Ski Club arranges for European group trips and ski trips to western U.S. states and Canada.

Buffalo Ski Club

The Buffalo Ski Club brings western New York skiers together. It was started in 1931 by a group of eight families from the Bavaria region of Germany who had settled in the U.S. Today, the Buffalo Ski Club is a family friendly affair and has brought together the Sitzmarker Ski Club, Ski Tamarack and Buffalo Ski Club. The club has reduced lift fees, a ski school, group and family outings and events and a clubhouse on the ski areas.
