Situated 45 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Glen Rose, Texas, is known as the "Dinosaur Capital of Texas." Tracks pressed into the town's limestone riverbeds indicate the presence of dinosaurs 100 million years ago. Glen Rose, established as a trading post in 1849, is on the Paluxy River, where it merges with the Brazos River.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Dinosaur Valley State Park campground has 46 full electric hookups for RVs and 16 tent sites. The campground is open year-round and features restrooms, showers and 12 miles of hiking and biking trails. Campground fees are separate from state park entrance fees.

Oakdale Park

Oakdale Park offers 240 sites with 20, 30 and 50-amp hookups. It can accommodate big rigs, and has water, sewer, restrooms, showers, a pool and is pet-friendly. Cabin rentals and tent sites are also available.

Tres Rios River Ranch

Tres Rio River Ranch is a private park for members of Ocean Canyon Properties. Situated along the banks of the Brazos River, the Paluxy River and Squaw Creek, Tres Rios features 300 full hookup sites. It has waterfront access, a pool, water, sewer, wireless Internet and is pet-friendly. Cabin, banquet rooms and tubing are also available for rental.
