Fat Cat Pie Co.
This dynamite pizza joint is much more than your average greasy pie parlor. Fat Cat lets you choose up to three ingredients, all organic and fresh, to sprinkle on your delicious thin crust pizza. Grilled asparagus, caramelized onions, and blackened bell peppers are among Fat Cat's superb toppings. While their menu is decidedly simple, Fat Cat's owners round out your experience by offering a fantastic wine list, dozens of imported and domestic microbrews, and generous salads topped with yummy cheeses and nuts. The place is super casual and family friendly, but it's also great for a romantic dinner if you can grab a small table by the exposed brick towards the back.

Pasta Nostra
The homemade pasta at this local favorite is unbelievably good, though it's really hard to order anything here that isn't delicious and memorable. Pasta Nostra has been a Norwalk institution ever since it converted from a fresh pasta deli to a gourmet restaurant in the early 90s. Many consider it to be the best Italian restaurant in all of Fairfield County. Talented chef Joe Bruno chooses only the freshest local and imported ingredients to include in his constantly changing menu. The homemade sausages, crispy Italian bread, and seafood specials are out of this world. Reservations are essential and the restaurant is closed Sunday through Tuesday.

Match
Thanks to versatile chef Matthew Storch, Match brings chic contemporary dining in South Norwalk to a whole new level. Match's ultra-modern ultra-hip setting (by Connecticut standards, at least) make it one of Norwalk's trendiest locales. But aside from the creative lighting and funky banquettes, Match consistently serves delicious and interesting food from around the globe. Match offers what could be called New American cuisine, and this includes tasty concoctions like short rib and oxtail fettuccini, port poached seckle pear and gorgonzola salad, and "8-hour" osso bucco of veal. Match also features en extensive international wine list that has earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence three years in a row.
