European Market & Deli

Located in the University Heights neighborhood, European Market & Deli has a casual atmosphere with warm and hospitable service. Before heading to the Diversionary Theater for the latest production, stop by this quaint marketplace. It offers a half dozen tables with indoor and outdoor seating. Look for Greek specialties, such as moussaka, wrapped "Veggie Diabolu" drizzled with spicy feta cheese sauce or lemon roasted chicken with a side Greek salad. Take home Greek wine. olives and cheeses sold by the pound. According the the San Diego Union-Tribune, "grab a bite, browse the gourmet market and plan ahead for your next picnic."

Marketplace Grille

Located in La Jolla, Marketplace Grille is both tasty and affordable with prompt and friendly service. It offer gourmet meats, fresh seafood and vegetarian dishes. The entrees are simmered over a mesquite grill. After a day of kayaking in La Jolla cove, sample the delectable veggie wrap. Savor the garlicky spreads and wraps that are served on fresh Lavash bread with your choice of veggies and fresh dressing.

Stop by for lunch or dinner daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Aladdin Mediterranean Cafe

Located in Hillcrest, Aladdin Mediterranean Cafe has a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor patio seating is available. The interior is inviting with etched copper tables and Mediterranean decor. After a stroll through Balboa Park, sample appetizers such as "Hommos with Shawerma" topped with chicken or lamb or the "Kebbeh" with two pieces of veal, deep fried seasoned and stuffed with ground beef, roasted onions and pine nuts. Taste the Lamb Bryani with roasted nuts on basmati rice; it's served with basmati rice, hummus, salad and freshly baked pita bread.

Aladdin accepts all credit cards. It serves beer and wine, and it has a take-out option.
