Kennesaw, Georgia is an Atlanta suburb and is home to Kennesaw Mountain, where some of the bloodiest Civil War battles were fought. As you hike along the 16 miles of trails, you will see cannons, historic earthworks and monuments. In addition, Kennesaw State University, the third-largest university in Georgia is nearby. Located in scenic Marietta Square, just outside Kennesaw, Marietta Pizza Co. is a crowd favorite. Inside, their display of local artists is fun to look at while you enjoy your pizza. Because they are on a corner spot, during the nicer weather, they place their tables around two sides of the restaurant, and they always fill up at lunchtime. A favorite is The Florentine, a pizza with spinach, artichoke hearts, grilled chicken, tomatoes, fresh garlic and extra cheese.
