Taste of Thai
Located in Hillcrest is Taste of Thai, where service is friendly and prompt and dress is casual. Relax in cozy seating while taking pleasure in appetizers such as skewered slices of marinated beef, chicken or tofu served with peanut sauce and a side of cucumber salad or go more exotic with ground fish with red curry, golden fried and served with a cucumber salad. Patron favorites include "mussaman kai" with chicken and Thai curries served with steamed or brown rice. Taste of Thai also has vegetarian selections.

Lotus Thai Cuisine
Located in the East Village, Lotus Thai Cuisine prepares regional dishes from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Southern Thailand. Lotus Thai received the 2008 "Zagat" award for best Thai of San Diego and offers a warm atmosphere with traditional Thai décor.
Unwind in stylish indoor seating while sampling "mieng rice noodle in lettuce wraps" or "tom kha," a spicy coconut soup. Savor Thai entrees such as traditional curries, "suki yaki" noodles or islander fried rice made with fresh pineapple, tomato, raisins and cashew nuts. Attractive artwork, dim lighting and a striking interior that includes seating separated by dramatic gossamer curtains make Rama, in downtown San Diego, a pleasurable dining experience. Staff and service is exceptional.
Rated as one of the top 100 restaurants in the country by Conde Nast, Rama specialties include "drunken spicy noodles" or "pad se-ew," which is stir-fried flat noodles and Chinese broccoli served with a black bean sauce. Waiters are attentive and bring additional chilies and other hot sauces to the table.
