The small town of Pahoa is located near the Eastern shoreline of the Big Island of Hawaii, twenty miles south of Hilo International Airport. Pahoa offers travelers a glimpse of old Hawaii, as well as a convenient location to relax while exploring nearby attractions. Those touring the area can enjoy the hiking trails at Volcanoes National Park, which is a short drive from Pahoa. Other attractions and sights in the area include the black sand beach and lava viewing area at Kalapana, the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory and the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo.

Kapoho Village Inn

Kapoho Village Inn is a former railroad station turned motel. The coastline is a short five minute drive from the motel. The Island Paradise Inn is located in historic Pahoa Town. This motel is unique in that each room is different from the others. Some rooms have simple amenities, such as a hot plate, while others come with a full kitchen and furnishings that would be found in an apartment. Guests can pay a higher rate and rent a room that has Wi-Fi. There is also access to a grilling area, as well as a pool.
