This popular Spanish restaurant serves generous portions of traditional fare. Located in the heart of the Ironbound on Ferry Street, Fornos offers diners the option of dining in a lush garden setting when the weather is fair. Diners have flocked to this Newark landmark for over 20 years to enjoy such appetizers as clams in garlic green sauce, Spanish cheese, octopus vinaigrette and gazpacho, the popular cold vegetable soup. For entrees, menu choices include grilled fillet mignon and veal cutlets in wine sauce.

Iberia Peninsula

In order to accommodate overflow crowds at the original Iberia restaurant, the Iberia Peninsula Restaurant was created in the heart of the Ironbound on Ferry Street. The restaurant offers an eye-catching décor, including soaring cathedral ceilings, a large barbecue pit and marble accents. Diners can relax with a drink before dinner at the large stainless steel bar. A specialty of the house is rodizio, all-you-can-eat skewers of chicken, filet mignon, ribs and sausage brought to your table. The Parrilhada seafood platter for two is prepared with lobster, shrimp and clams, served on saffron rice. Guests enjoy lobsters up to 6 lbs. There is an extensive collection of Portuguese and Spanish wines to go with the meal. Diners have the convenience of a private parking lot on-site.
