Mexican Restaurants in Albany, New York

Mexican Restaurants in Albany, New York
Albany is located in upstate New York, far north of Manhattan and NYC's five diverse boroughs. However, you shouldn't be surprised that New York state's capital contains a wide range of nationalities, and thus a wide range of ethnic cuisines. Albany houses a multitude of Mexican restaurants to fill you up after a hike on nearby Hunter Mountain, and you won't have to pay through the nose to get your fill.

Casa Oaxaca

Mexican food in the United States extends from authentic cuisine that will transport you to Cozumel to simplified American fare, with the same products minus the range of spices. Casa Oaxaca is decidedly the former, and it strives for an uncompromising authenticity. Diners love their homemade chips and guacamole.

El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant II

Located a block from the Capitol Building, El Mariachi is popular with government workers up after long nights of paperwork. Drink specials help ring in the weekend. The menu features a Spanish section (though these dishes are much higher-priced). El Mariachi is generous with its portions; expect to bring home a doggy bag.

Panchos Mexican Restaurant

Panchos falls decidedly on the Americanized side of the Mexican food range, but by no means does that imply that its not worth your time or your calories. Panchos is less expensive than Casa Oaxaca and El Mariachi and offers to-go service, which makes it a good option if you don't have time to sit for a meal or are just passing through Albany on your way to greener pastures.
