Santa Barbara Beach Restaurants

Santa Barbara Beach Restaurants
Santa Barbara, California is a small, unique city. Dotted with hundreds of hotels, a visitor's day can be spent heading up to the Santa Ynez Mountains for a day of hiking or basking on any of the clean, sandy beaches. Rincon, to the south, and El Capitan, to the north, offers anglers the chance to work the low tides, while surfers and boogey boarders enjoy the waves off these flat beaches. Once you've worked up an appetite, check out one of the numerous Santa Barbara beachfront restaurants.

Endless Summer Bar Cafe

Located on the top floor of an old building, this casual surf chic establishment has surfboards hanging from the ceiling and plates of delicious seafood rolling out of the kitchen. The Endless Summer is a laid back establishment where most meals are served in a basket. The best way to enjoy Santa Barbara's great weather and great food it to get a table on the patio. The menu is extensive; try the popcorn shrimp or the sesame-crusted ahi on a warm spinach salad. The sea bass is another popular choice.

Longboard's Grill

Located on historic Sterns Wharf, Longboard's Grill, located upstairs from the Harbor Restaurant, offers sweeping views of Santa Barbara harbor, the San Ynez Mountains and the city of Santa Barbara, while serving American and seafood dishes. Seating is available inside on the patio, and the menu remains consistent. Featuring mostly fried seafood, the meals are always tasty. Open for lunch or dinner, Longboards is very popular with the ever-present tours crowd and locals alike. Most meals have a Hawaiian theme, with the Maui burger (double burger, Kona sauce, jack cheese and fried onion) is outstanding, the star here is the seafood. Try the steamed mussels for a starter and then the fresh local snappers (served blacken with rice). There is plenty on the menu from both the sea and land. The atmosphere is very casual and the prices moderate.

Enterprise Fish Company

The Enterprise Fish Company has been in business for 30 years. Named after the building's former tenant, the Enterprise Laundry Company, the restaurant has one of the best locations in Santa Barbara. Just a stone's throw from the beach and Sterns Wharf, Enterprise is a popular place to go after a day on the beach or sailing around Santa Barbara Harbor. Specializing in American cuisine, the main fare is seafood. Stand-out menu items include the Cioppino, a shellfish seafood stew, and the house specially, mixed seafood grill featuring shrimp, scallops, and fish grilled over mesquite wood. Another favorite is a Caprese salad with grilled scallops.
