Located at the southern tip of Florida, Miami's climate remains warm and temperate year-round. Miami has many recreational activities to offer visitors, including activities involving the many beaches that have made Miami famous. Miami beaches are regularly recognized as best beaches for surfing, fishing and family activities according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Because of its vacation destination, hundreds of restaurants populate the city, many of them kosher for Miami's large Jewish population.

17 Restaurant and Sushi Bar

This South Beach-area restaurant is certified kosher dairy by the Va'ad HaKashrus of Miami-Dade. It serves an eclectic mix of sushi and other Asian entrees, along with many Italian entrees such as pizza, pasta dishes and fish entrees. Portions of most items are plentiful enough to feed two. The interior is decorated in a warm Mediterranean style; and outdoor patio seating is available. 17 Restaurant is open during the week until 10 p.m., but closes early on Friday at 3 p.m. for Shabbat. The restaurant reopens Saturday evening after Shabbat.

2 For 1 Pizza and More

This pizza eatery in the Bal Harbour neighborhood also serves Israeli and Mediterranean dishes. It is certified kosher dairy by the Va'ad HaKashrus of Miami-Dade. In addition to a large menu of specialty pizzas, customers can build their own pizzas, or order from a choice of entrees such as egg salad sandwich, Greek salad or sambusak (Israeli calzone). The dessert menu is limited to items such as cookies, muffins and brownies.

Grill Time

A Kosher steakhouse in North Miami Beach? Yes--and one with an upscale, intimate atmosphere at that. Grill Time is certified glatt by the Orthodox Rabbinical Board of Broward & Palm Beach Counties. Appetizers are large enough to share, as are some of the entrees, such as a few of the steak cuts and the lamb shanks. Side dishes are served for the table to enjoy, with refills available. With a large and diverse menu, competent staff and pleasing atmosphere, Grill Time should be on everyone's "Must Visit" list while in Miami. The dining room fills up early, so make reservations to avoid waiting for a table. Grill Time has a second location in nearby Boca Raton.
