Pizza Restaurants in Sacramento

Pizza Restaurants in Sacramento
Sacramento is a bustling state capital that has held on to a small-town sense of place. The city, punctuated by bridges spanning the Sacramento and American Rivers, offers water sports including boating, swimming, rafting and fishing. The 35-mile American River Bike Trail attracts cyclists, walkers, joggers and bird watchers. When you need a break, you will find great pizza all over town.

Zelda's Original Gourmet Pizza

For three consecutive years, Zelda's has won the popular vote for "Best Pizza in Sacramento" on local television station KCRA's A-List, but the award is just the latest in a long history of honors. Zelda's combines authentic Italian recipes and top-quality ingredients to create a Chicago-style pizza that sizzles. Choose a classic combo (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onion) or the exotic "spinnocoli" (seasoned spinach, broccoli, garlic, cheeses and fresh tomatoes) in small, medium and large sizes. Prices are moderate.

Enjoy a selection of craft brews created by the Firestone Walker Brewing Company and brewed just blocks away at Pete's Brewery. Prices are moderate; on-line coupons are usually available.

Luigi's Pizza

Luigi's is a treasure tucked away in the seedy Stockton Avenue neighborhood. The pizzas are classics and served on a thin crust, although a thick crust is available on request. Try the sausage, still made on the premises. The restaurant has operated on this corner since 1953, when you could get a large sliced salami pizza for $2. Prices have gone up since then, but remain reasonable.

Famous Pizza

Famous Pizza is tucked into a strip mall just a few blocks north of William Land Park. If you can't wait to eat after a round on the golf course or a run in the park, this family-run restaurant will satisfy. They serve reliably good pizza at a reliably good price. Ask about their specials, which often include a large bottle of soda thrown in with your meal.
