American Flatbread

Vermonters have loved American Flatbread for years. The restaurant first opened in Waitsfield, Vermont, and it has since opened more locations around the state as well as in Virginia and Oregon. American Flatbread always uses all natural, local and organic ingredients, and bakes its pizzas in wood-fire ovens right in the restaurant. Homemade decorations and hand-written menus contribute to the restaurant's intimate, family atmosphere. On crowded weekend nights the wait for a table can be long, so arrive early or find a place at the bar while you wait. Flatbread offers an extensive beer selection, including a variety of local brews and some beers brewed on site. You'll find plenty of satisfying vegetarian options on the menu. The pizzas, with whimsical names such as "Punctuated Equilibrium," will not disappoint.

Trattoria Delia

Trattoria Delia is more expensive than other Italian restaurants in the area, but it offers a romantic fine dining experience you won't find at a casual pizza place. The intimate atmosphere, complete with a fireplace, is reminiscent of a cozy ski lodge and perfect for a date or anniversary. The brick walls and wood floors ensure that the restaurant remains romantically dark. Don't forget to look at the extensive wine list, and save room for dessert.
