Fort Scott, Kansas, is a small town in the eastern border of the state. Its rural, open setting makes it a popular destination for those who enjoy hiking, mountain-biking and outdoor sports activities. The Fort Scott Inn offers guests their choice of 78 inexpensive rooms. Each room comes with personal air conditioning, free wireless Internet, two phone lines, cable television, and coffee and tea makers. Some rooms also come with a mini-fridge. There are no suites, but there are two types of standard rooms: single bed and double bed. Guests can exercise in the hotel's fitness room with full gym or enjoy a swim in its large outdoor swimming pool with patio. For business travelers, there is a business center with computer, Internet, fax and copier capabilities. Though there is no room service, it does have an in-house restaurant called Raciti's Family, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Heritage Inn Fort Scott

The Heritage Inn and suites has 53 rooms divided into three types: single bed, double bed and suite. All rooms come with a 32-inch LCD television, free wireless Internet, mini-fridges, microwave ovens, cable television and personal air conditioning. In addition, the suites come with separate living, sleeping and dining areas. While this hotel does not have a fitness center or pool, it is close to some of Fort Scott's public gyms. And though there is no room service or in-house restaurant, the Heritage Inn can offer its guests discounts to some of the town's many restaurants. For business or celebratory functions, there are three modest function rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 20 people.

The Courtland Hotel and Aveda Spa Salon is a great accommodation for those who are looking for a little rest and relaxation. This boutique hotel offers guests their choice of 16 rooms, which come with separate living and sleeping areas, cable television, personal air conditioning and mini-fridges. The main feature of the hotel, its Aveda Spa, has four therapy rooms and two manicure stations. Guests get discounted rates at the spa, which offers the latest in massage and beauty treatments. Dining options include a complimentary breakfast served each morning, as well as the option of reserving a dinner meal at the hotel's dining hall, which serves an array of French and American cuisine.
