Restaurants in Miami Beach, Florida

Restaurants in Miami Beach, Florida
Miami Beach has long been a destination for water sports enthusiasts from around the United States. Here, you can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, canoe trips, bike tours and swimming on one of the most idyllic beaches in America. With its diverse community, it also offers some of the tastiest variety of ethnic cuisines in Florida.

Nobu

The Miami Beach branch of this worldwide Japanese restaurant chain is incredibly popular. Perhaps that is because it's the only Nobu you can find on the East Coast outside of New York City. Nobu prides itself on using fresh ingredients, and locals claim it is the best sushi you can find in the area. Be sure to reserve ahead, or chances are you won't be able to get a table.

Sazon Cuban Cuisine

With its massive Cuban population, visitors to Miami Beach are encouraged to try the local specialties at least once. This local institution gets as high marks as any. The black beans and rice, though merely a side dish, are delicious enough, but things get even better with the pork entrees.

Tamarind

Lovers of Thai cuisine must make a pilgrimage to Tamarind while in Miami Beach. The famous Thai chef Vatcharin Bhumichitr, who runs several acclaimed restaurants in London and has authored quite a few standard Thai cookbooks, owns it. Tamarind has proven to be massively popular with the locals since opening its doors in 2004. Entrees range in price from $11 to $13 on average, and most are big enough to share. Art by local artists adorns the walls in an ever-revolving exhibition.

Indomania

Amsterdam is undoubtedly the capital of Indonesian cuisine in the Western world, and Indomania brings a decidedly Dutch variation on Indonesian cuisine to the Miami Beach region. As such, be sure to try the enormous Rijsttafel, a Dutch colonial variation on a popular Indonesian specialty, which comes with chicken braised with coconut milk, grilled chicken satay, green beans, pickled cucumbers, a hard-boiled egg dipped in curry, chunks of beef in a sweet sauce and rice. The chefs also offer a vegetarian interpretation of this dish on the menu.
