Of the many tourists' attractions in British Columbia Canada, the lakes draw visitors from all over the world. The fishing, boating, hiking around the lakes provide many opportunities to participate in outdoor activities. Different species of birds and wildlife call the area home. While there are plenty of RV and tent campsites, several lake resorts that cater to families have sprung up near the lakes to accommodate the influx of tourists.

Blue Lake Resort

The Blue Lake Resort is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours from Vancouver, BC and Kamloops, BC. The Hells Gate Airtram, Reo Rafting Adventures, and Stein Valley Provincial Park, as well as Jim and Vicky's Horseback Adventures are located nearby. Visitors can explore the lake on a rental boat and canoe, trek around the perimeter of the lake via the many hiking trails, or go mountain biking or swimming. This lodge can accommodate up to 30 guests in its 10 large guestrooms and has four washrooms. It has a bar, lounge, decks, dining area, deluxe kitchen and hot tub. Other amenities include hot showers, laundry facility, and public phone. The guests can also enjoy planetary telescopic viewing, when there is a clear sky.

Echo Lake Fishing Resort

The Echo Lake Fishing Resort is near the City of Vernon. There are seven cabins where visitors can stay while enjoying the boating, swimming, fishing to be found on the lake. While rustic, the cabins do have power for lighting and refrigerators. Other amenities include dishes, cooking utensils, a table, fire-pit, dry toilets, central shower and a central flush toilet. The resort also has children's playground with swings, tether ball, horseshoe pit, volleyball/badminton net and a tire swing.

Fishpot Lake Resort

Fishpot Lake Resort is 120 kilometers west of Quesnel, British Columbia, and is accessible by road. The large lake and its surroundings, provide many opportunities for hiking, hunting, fishing and boating. There are eight log cabins by the side of the lake outfitted with propane refrigerators, stoves and lights. Each cabin is stocked with kitchen utensils, dishes and pots, as well as clean bed linens. The resort also has a covered barbecue and picnic area.
