Cazenovia, New York, is a small town about 20 miles outside of Syracuse. Founded on the east side of Cazenovia Lake, the town is a step back into the past with its quaint homes, luxurious estates and rich history. Popular year round, summers in Cazenovia are all about relaxation and enjoying the cool waters of the lake. All the hotels are of the bed and breakfast or small inn variety. Boating and windsurfing on Cazenovia Lake are popular summer events and hikers of all skill levels can walk the trails of nearby Green Lakes State Park. Cazenovia Lake is one of only 15 meromictic lakes (in which upper waters do not mix with deeper, more saline waters) in the country. Golfers may want to hit the links at Green Lakes, one of the public courses in the area.

The Brewster Inn

The Brewster Inn is a hybrid of a bed and breakfast and a small hotel. Rooms are available in the main house or the renovated carriage house. All rooms come with a private bathroom TV, AC, phone and Wi-Fi Internet with some offering a fireplace and Jacuzzi. Seasonal rates are offered with winter rates the lowest. Visitors can take advantage of cross-country skiing and snowmobiling around the shores of the lake. The inn's restaurant is a dining destination for miles around.

The Brae Loch Inn

The Brae Loch is a large inn that offers well-appointed rooms including large, thick Temper-Pedic mattresses with ultra plush linens. The rooms all have independent air conditioning and heating, TV and free Wi-Fi. A complimentary breakfast is served in the Brae Loch's award-winning restaurant. Off-season rates are available and it is recommended that you book early for summer stays. Located in the Cazenovia Village, fine dining and shopping is within walking distance.

Notleymere Cottage

Notleymere Cottage on the shore of Cazenovia Lake is a small inn that offers a view of the lake or surrounding hills. The luxurious accommodations include a full breakfast often served lakeside during the summer. A former mansion, the home was a favorite of Teddy Roosevelt when he ventured to central New York. All the rooms have been renovated recently. The inn offers double bed and queen rooms as well as two luxury suites.
