When you think of Redmond, Washington, one word usually comes to mind: Microsoft. Redmond is the home of the corporate giant, which is situated in a tech corridor that includes Nintendo of America, Google and Expedia. Redmond's job market attracts an array of nationalities, consequently the selection of ethnic food is plentiful. What you might not know about the city is that it is home to the state's only velodrome and is nicknamed the "The Bicycle Capital of the Northwest." After a day of biking around one of Redmond's 34 parks and endless bike lanes, be sure to stop by one of the tasty Chinese restaurants in town.

Golden Chopsticks

Golden Chopsticks is on the second floor of the Redmond Town Center, next to Macy's. Beautifully decorated and featuring a large family-style central table that promotes "The traditional communal banquet that is found in the forecourt of the richest," there is food to satiate every appetite. Golden Chopsticks even offers a healthy choices menu that includes scrumptious food such as sautéed baby bok choy, sweet and sour tofu and ma po tofu. Be sure to start with an appetizer of fried crab cheese won-tons, Mandarin barbecue baby ribs, pot stickers or kim-chi. Standard favorites such as kung pao chicken and beef with broccoli are always good choices. If you want to try something unusual, opt for the strawberry beef. This is a perfect place to fill you up after a day on the go in Redmond. Lunch and dinner are served daily.

Grand Peking Restaurant

Specializing in Mandarin and Sichuan-style cuisine, Grand Peking Restaurant is a fine place to stop after spending the day in Marymoor Park. Located along Redmond's main drag in the Creekside Crossing section of the Redmond Town Center, Jade Dragon Cuisine offers a variety of reasonably priced Chinese foods and bubble tea. With traditional favorites such as sesame beef and chicken, general Tso's chicken, kung pao chicken or beef and chow mein, even the choosiest diner will find something that suits him. There are many vegetarian options as well, including the homestyle tofu stone pot, sautéed string beans and vegetable spring rolls. Given the outstanding quality of fresh seafood in the Pacific Northwest, be sure to try one of their many seafood specialties, including the Szechwan-style jumbo prawns, tofu jumbo prawns and sizzling seafood platter. A full bar complements the filling food. Carryout is available along with a lunch menu. Lunch and dinner are served daily.
