Just seven miles west of Ferdinand is Dale, Indiana, which offers a good hotel alternative in the Baymont Inn and Suites. Santa's Lakeside Cottages

If you are looking for an off-the-beaten path adventure, look at Santa's Lakeside Cottages located in Santa Claus, Indiana. These cottages are a good place to investigate if you are interested in visiting nearby Holiday World. Each of the small cottages nestled around Lake Jolly can hold as many as six people with a variety of bedding choices, including a king size bed, a queen size, a Murphy bed and a futon.
The cottages have access to both lakeside activities and the outdoor activities and games the cottage-keepers have set up. There is also a park of Christmas-themed wooden sculptures.
