The City of Charleston is designated as a National Register of Historic Places, showcasing 43 places with "over 300 years of history," according to the National Park Service. Two of the most noted landmarks are the Charleston City Hall and St. Michael's Church, Charleston's oldest church, both of which can be seen on a Charleston historical walking tour. The Francis Marion Hotel

The Francis Marion Hotel, a Charleston historic district hotel, originally opened in 1924 and reopened in 1996, after a $12 million restoration. It is also on the National Register of Historic Buildings. Expect a grand Southern-style greeting when entering the hotel by a doorman. Inside the hotel, dine in the Swamp Fox Restaurant. The Fulton Lane Inn was originally built in 1912, and its 45 rooms were fully restored in 1994. Enjoy Charleston's historic district's skyline through the large windows.
