Dog-Friendly Hotels in East Anglia

Dog-Friendly Hotels in East Anglia
East Anglia is an area of England that includes Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire counties. In Suffolk, you'll find more than 70 circular walking trails stretching for hundreds of miles. Cambridgeshire has The Fens, where you can hike the nature trails or take a narrow boat trip down one of the many waterways. Norfolk's 93-mile Norfolk Coast Path National Trail will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of England. East Anglia, in fact, is perfect if you have a dog with you, and luckily it also has many dog-friendly hotels for overnight stays or longer.

The White Horse, Brancaster, Norfolk

The White Horse hotel is located on the coast of north Norfolk, next to miles of sandy beaches--ideal for guests who love to walk, bird-watch or want to bring their dog. This dog-friendly hotel has 15 guest rooms, eight of which are ground-floor rooms that are fully welcoming to dogs and their owners. All rooms are decorated in a modern style and have en-suite bathrooms, TV and in-room Internet access. Breakfast is served at the bar from 9 to 11 a.m., with lunch and dinner in the conservatory restaurant overlooking the Norfolk Coastal Path and the coastal marshlands. There's a small nightly fee for your dog, but it can sleep in the bedroom with you, so it's well worth the price, and with miles of beaches for its daily walks, it'll probably thank you, too.

The Crown and Castle in Orford, Suffolk, is one of East Anglia's best dog-friendly hotels. It offers 19 guest rooms decorated in modern style, with four patio rooms opening directly out into the garden that are designated for dogs and their owners. The hotel provides a doggy welcoming bag upon arrival and an area where you can wash down your dog after a long walk in muddy countryside. In the evening, if you want to eat dinner together, there's even a doggy table near the bar and restaurant where you and your dog can eat dinner together and meet other dogs and their owners, too. For humans, each of the hotel's bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and a TV, and the on-site restaurant, The Trinity, serves an award-winning menu concentrating on local Suffolk cuisine. The Crown and Castle charges a small daily fee per dog, with a maximum of two dogs per room.
