China Pearl
China Pearl has been around since the early 1990s, but in 2009 it moved into a new building next to where the old one used to stand. It's less than two miles from Farragut's Anchor Park, which is near Fort Loudoun Lake. China Pearl's specialty is "stonegrill dining." Food cooks at your table on a heated stone without additional oils and fats. The restaurant says this method of "dry cooking" keeps meat and seafood from losing their nutrients and juices. Try the steak paired with shrimp, scallops, fish or chicken. China Pearl is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Little Bangkok Thai Bistro
Thai food's spicy kick isn't for everyone, but at Little Bangkok Thai Bistro, just let the server know how much spice you can handle, and the chef will prepare it as you like. The Evil Jungle Salmon is a favorite, prepared in the restaurant's own special curry sauce, or go with the sweet basil, a popular stir-fry dish made with Thai basil and a red-pepper base. If you really want to turn up the heat, get the green curry, made from Thai green chilies. Just keep some water or a glass of Singha beer on the table. Chinese dishes are also on the menu. Little Bangkok is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner; it's closed between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The restaurant is near Farragut's commuter lot, from which you have easy access to the Grigsby Chapel and Parkside greenways.

Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar
In 2009, Knoxville News Sentinel readers voted Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar as "East Tennessee's Best Ethnic Restaurant (Besides Chinese, Italian or Mexican)." There are two Wasabi restaurants in Knoxville; the closest to Farragut is the one on Lovell Road by the Turkey Creek shopping center. One end of the two-mile, asphalt Parkside Greenway is just north of the restaurant near Interstate 40/75. Fans of teppanyaki cooking (the kind with the spinning knives and blasts of fire) can watch the flying food while eating tossed salad with a "secret" dressing. Dinner entrées also include Wasabi's signature flaming shrimp. The sushi menu includes more than 40 rolls, including the flash-fried Yummy Yummy Roll. Wasabi serves lunch and dinner, with a break in between on every day except Saturday, which is dinner only.
