This city features a museum dedicated to preserving elements of the past by maintaining historically significant structures and establishing a mock colonial village. Visitors to the area enjoy touring the 35-acre Amherst Museum and experiencing 19th-century colonial life firsthand. While visiting Amherst, you will find that there are a number of area restaurants to select from at which you can appease your appetite.

Olive Garden

The Olive Garden brings traditional Italian cooking to the American marketplace. The restaurant, which features an exterior and decor inspired by classic Italy, offers diners endless salad and bread sticks. Diners can select from a rotating menu. Some ever-present favorites include the Tour of Italy, lasagna and fettuccine alfredo. Patrons can also select from an extensive wine list to select a wine that pairs perfectly with their entree. The Olive Garden in Amherst is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday

The Scotch 'n Sirloin

The Scotch 'n Sirloin restaurant in Amherst features a decor that is reminiscent of a Wild West saloon. The restaurant is open from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Moti Mahal Restaurant

The Moti Mahal Restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of Amherst. The Moti Mahal boasts healthy foods that are only made with vegetable oil, fresh vegetables, lean meats and fresh ingredients. Diners can select from Indian favorites including vegetable pakora, tandoori chicken and a variety of freshly prepared chutneys. Diners can place reservations by calling the restaurant in advance of their arrival. Moti Mahal is closed on Tuesdays. It is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.
