The town of Aguada is located in the Costal Valley in the western region of Puerto Rico. It is known as one of the two possible spots where Christopher Columbus landed upon discovering Puerto Rico in November 1493, the other town being Aguadilla. It is the second oldest settlement in Puerto Rico. Aguada was founded around 1508-1510 by Cristóbal de Sotomayor, and is also known as Sotomayor's Village. There are a few places stay on a visit to Aguada, which accent the local folklore.

Hotel Colombus Atlantis Beach Resort

This hotel was built in 1949 and has recently been remodeled. All rooms have an ocean view and private balconies. The hotel includes a bar and billiard room. It is located near exceptional surfing beaches. Handicap access is available and credit cards are accepted. There are 10 rooms. Rate: $59-$99 per night.
