The Clipper Inn Restaurant
Skylights and large windows give this not-too-formal, family-owned restaurant an open, comfortable feel. In comfortable, just above casual surroundings, patrons are put at ease and encouraged to focus on what is really important here: a broad and truly inspired menu based upon a creative approach to Mediterranean, Asian and vegetarian cuisines. Popular among these dishes are the veal Athens, the coconut shrimp--served with homemade mango chutney--and the Thai tofu curry. Seafood is skillfully done, as are the steaks featured on the Clipper Inn's interesting menu. Desserts are simply delectable and, like the appetizers and entrees, are absolutely homemade. The key lime pie has an almond graham cracker crust. This is a pricey dining experience although there is a nice selection of cheaper entrees. However, the superb quality of the food makes it worth every dollar. Dinner is served Tuesdays through Sundays starting at 5 p.m., and reservations are the best way to ensure a table.

Thousand Islands Inn Restaurant
This historic inn and restaurant is known as the birthplace of the salad dressing that bears its name. As locals and tourists alike know, this is far from the only culinary greatness associated with this restaurant. The Thousand Islands Inn Restaurant continues to garner awards and recognition for its steeped-in-history style and for its numerous skillfully prepared dishes. In addition to assorted Italian dishes, with sauces simmered on site, seafood, poultry and steak and chops classics, the menu also features the restaurant's "signature specialties" such as the beef steak continental, which is a pair of beef tenderloin fillets, one served the Thousand Islands Inn Restaurant's special herbed blue cheese sauce and the other with Bordelais sauce. The homemade desserts are a delightful way to finish the meal, with one of the most famous--bread pudding with vanilla sauce--dating back nearly to its beginnings more than a century ago. This is a culinary experience that should not be missed, and reservations are requested.
