That tradition of excellence is very much a part of the Stewart House Restaurant and Inn of today, attracting and impressing such well-known patrons as Steven Spielberg. Carefully restored to reflect its original magnificence, including such warm details as tin ceilings that gleam in the gentle lighting, dining at the Stewart House is an experience to be savored. The menu is creative, and makes use of local and organic produce and meats. Appetizers include such tasty items as quesadillas and fried calamari. The menu also offers inspired sandwiches and entrees, such as grilled chicken stuffed with feta, mushrooms, and guiness demi, as well as out of the ordinary daily specials, like their pork medallions with cauliflower and roasted garlic over baked angel hair, topped with feta butter. The most expensive entrée is about $18.

Cameo's Restaurant
Specializing in Italian cuisine and also offering some excellent continental European selections, Cameo's Restaurant is among the best of restaurants in Athens, New York. Moderate prices and generous portions keep patrons coming back for more of the authentically Italian and deliciously European cuisine. With chef-prepared sauces, simmered to the sort of perfection family matriarchs achieved in the old country with recipes guarded for generations, patrons enjoy such dishes as Veal Marsala, Penne Primavera, and Eggplant Parmigiana. The Dockside Grill on the Hudson
The Dockside Grill on the Hudson offers a dining experience that is not to be missed. The atmosphere is a delight, with glass walls and wondrous water views, frequent live music, and a caring and dedicated staff. The menu is amazing, the prices moderate, and the portions generous. Entrees include tasty seafood selections, such as scallops au gratin and an inspired shrimp scampi, home-style options, like meatloaf and a full turkey dinner, and Italian chicken Parmesan. There is also a children's menu, and there are regular specials. Open daily.
