Fort Edward, a historic town in Washington County in upstate New York, holds many opportunities for adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. The Historic Inn of Fort Edward

The Historic Inn of Fort Edward recently underwent renovations in which the property transformed all rooms to reflect the history of upstate New York. Guests can reach the inn by car or rail as well as through the yacht basin.

Decorations in a country-style manner and antique furniture furnish each room. All standard rooms have oak floors, ceramic bathrooms, cable TV, high-speed wireless Internet access and individual heating and air-conditioning units. Meanwhile, luxury rooms showcase bamboo floors, granite showers with multi-spray head and antique furniture.

Rates include double occupancy, with an additional person in the room costing a $10 fee. Quoted room rates do not include the 7 percent New York state sales tax.

The SaraGlen Motel

Located among a series of tall pine trees, the SaraGlen Motel offers guests value for their money. All rooms feature at-door parking, individual heating and air-conditioning units, bedside digital alarm clock with radio, cable TV with HBO, full ceramic baths, free local phone calls and free Wi-Fi access; additionally, some rooms have refrigerators. Guests can request additional amenities such as cribs, rollaway beds for an additional $25 per night, hairdryers, irons and boards, lawn chairs, picnic tables, books and board games.

The motel welcomes children of all ages for no additional fee if they are staying in their parents' rooms. SaraGlen does not permit smoking or pets inside the building. Check-in time is 4 to 6 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m.

Town and Country Motel

The colonial-inspired Town and Country Hotel has 32 rooms on two floors. Guests will find the motel's location convenient for outdoor activities due to its proximity to Lake George and Saratoga Springs.

Town and Country offers various amenities, including an on-site restaurant, outdoor pool, photocopy services, fax services offered exclusively for guests and complimentary coffee for registered guests. All rooms have individual air-conditioning units, refrigerator, telephone, color TV with cable or satellite channels, microwave oven, mini-kitchen, smoke alarm and daily housekeeping service. The property has both smoking and non-smoking rooms and permits pets on the premises.
