El Palmar Beach & Tennis Resort
Catering to the family vacationers, El Palmar is a non-smoking resort that sits alongside the ocean. A fun, relaxing place, El Palmar has activities for both children and adults. Both may enjoy the activities that the beach offers and play tennis for $10 a day. Tennis lessons are available for $30 an hour. Tasty restaurants that have remarkable seafood and classic Mexican drinks are another bonus. To make a reservation, there is a minimum of five days that a family must stay. A deposit of half the balance is required, and upon arrival the rest must be paid in Mexican pesos. The price per night in 2009 starts at 890 pesos.

La Paloma Oceanfront Retreat & Art Center
An exotic, private resort, La Paloma only allows couples. Teeming with a romantic flair, this privately owned resort has only 13 studios, decorated with a lovely, tropical feel. Right next to the beach, there is also a pool for couples to enjoy. The price range in 2009 is 800-1,100 pesos per night.

If looking for something more secluded than a resort, renting a private home, cottage, condo or villa might be a better fit. Researching the different vacation rentals available on the Internet might help to make a decision. Some places may have a pool and other similar conditions as a resort, including hammocks and umbrellas on the beach, beautiful views of the ocean and a private, relaxing ambiance.

If traveling in an RV across Mexico, there is a campground next to the beach in Melaque. There are 45 spaces for RVs, and the rate is $17 per night. Pets must be leashed at all times.
