Bus Trips to Nashville From Pittsburgh

Bus Trips to Nashville From Pittsburgh
Bus trips from Pittsburgh to Nashville, Tenn., tend to be a rare and limited commodity, mostly because of geography. There is a small number of national bus line operators, and they tend to run through major cities like New York. Major bus line operators in the transportation industry include Coach, Trailways Travel and Greyhound, and they also tend to run regionally like in the Northeast. Fortunately, there are two options for traveling by bus from Pittsburgh to Nashville.

Myers Coach Lines

Myers Coach Lines offers an inclusive bus trip from Pittsburgh to Nashville Oct. 17-22, 2010. This pre-scheduled bus trip includes dining, transportation, hotel accommodations, tickets to events, and sightseeing opportunities.

Myers' bus trip includes two nights of en-route hotel accommodations and three nights of deluxe hotel accommodations in Nashville.

The bus trip package includes tickets to see the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and Upper Room Chapel. Also included is a three-hour guided tour of Nashville, featuring the historic downtown area, celebrity homes, museums, architecture and music row.

Although the bus trip is highly pre-scheduled, Myers has designated independent time for sightseeing and shopping. Included with the bus trip are five breakfasts, two dinners and a lunch cruise.

Usually each trip has two to four transfers that can range from five minutes to three hours. Since routes differ, the lengths of the total trip can range from 15 to 18 hours per one-way trip.

Each route runs through Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Depending on the specific route, some cities, including Akron, Ohio, Bowling Green, Ky., Cincinnati, Columbus, Ohio, Dayton, Ohio, Elizabethtown, Ky., Louisville, Ky., West Salem, Ohio, Wheeling, W.Va., Youngstown, Ohio, and Zanesville, Ohio, will be traveled through to reach Nashville.

Purchasing Tickets

The price a customer will pay for a ticket depends on how many days prior to departing the ticket was bought. As the departure date becomes closer, the ticket prices increase and the number of ticket options decrease.

Greyhound offers discounts to certain demographics, including college students, U.S. military personnel and veterans. All tickets can be purchased at Greyhound's website or by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
