La Paz, located on Mexico's Baja Peninsula, offers tourists a myriad of recreational activities both on land and in the water. Remodeled in 2005, the 21 oceanfront rooms at Punta Pescadero include a living room with fireplace, refrigerator and private seaside terrace. Punta Pescadero translates to "fisherman's point," as fishing continues to be a popular activity in addition to swimming in the pool or sea, snorkeling, tennis and beach volleyball. All-inclusive rates start at $201 per night for one adult, including meals, and two children under age 12 may stay free (without meals included). From March to September, a third night is offered free to guests, and a Master Suite villa with Jacuzzi is available for $282 per night for two adults, with meals included. Fishing charters start at $175 for a half-day trip.
