Max & David's

Max & David's is a popular kosher restaurant located at 8120 Old York Road in Elkins Park. The restaurant is a BYOB, has a high Zagat's rating and features Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisine. One of the house specialties is the M & D pastrami burger, made of homemade Romanian pastrami. The owner of the restaurant is Steven Katz, who named it for his father and grandfather. Lines can be lengthy so reservations are recommended.

Klapholz's is another kosher establishment which is located at 7715 Montgomery Avenue in Elkins Park. Klapholz's specializes in catering and take-out fare, from simple dinners to elegant platters. Roling's is a small kosher bakery located at 7848 Montgomery Avenue in Elkins Park. It is conveniently located right across the street from the train station. Some customers feel that Roling's has the best bagels in the Philadelphia area. The bakery has also been sited for its challah and pies.
