Mauritius an island off the coast of Africa. The island is just 38 miles by 29 miles, with resort areas such as Flic en Flac, which is popular with scuba divers. Ganga Talao or Grand Bassin is a lake situated in the mountains in the heart of Mauritius. There are hotels in the surrounding towns of Bel Ombre and Belle Mare, which are approximately 13 kilometers, or eight miles, from Grand Bassin.

Grand Bassin is considered as a sacred lake by Hindus, as it is said that the water inside the crater that forms the lake communicates with the waters of the Ganges River in India. Around the lake there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, as well as other gods.

Hotel Ambre

Located on a white, sandy beach more than a kilometer long, the Hotel Ambre offers guests sports such as scuba diving, mountain biking, water-skiing and deep-sea fishing. This hotel near the town of Flic en Flac is set on the west coast of the island, facing the beach of Tamarin Bay, a mythic surf spot protected from winds all year.
