Chateau de Mazan
Chateau de Mazan has played many roles since it was built in the early 18th century. It has been a school, an old-age home and a private residence. It is most famous for being the personal residence of the infamous Marquis de Sade. It was here that the Marquis staged the first ever Theater Festival in France, playing many of the roles himself.
Today, the chateau is a 25-room inn, each one different from the next. Rooms and suites include en-suite bath, spectacular views, air-conditioning and minibar. Some rooms feature steam showers, 18th-century bathtubs, private gardens and terraces.
