The '76 House
The '76 House was built in 1668 and served as a prison for one of the Revolutionary War's worst spies, Major John Andre. This restaurant has been serving patrons for more than 200 years and is New York's oldest tavern. The entrée menu consists of black angus steaks, filet mignon, American red deer, pork chops, chicken, fish, lamb, duck, scallops, pasta and crabs. Appetizers, salads and dessert complete this dining experience and, as of 2009, prices range from $8 to $13 for starters and $18 to $30 for entrees. The lunch menu has all of this in smaller portions and nothing is more than $19 while the brunch menu is set at $22.95.
