Wigwam Motel
Spend the night in a teepee on route 66. The Wigwam motel looks like a blend of the Blue Swallow Inn and Roy's cafe featured in Disney's Pixar film, Cars. However, this Wigwam has been around since 1947. Modeled after the "auto-camping" craze in the early 1920s, the Wigwam is a simulation of one of the hallmark campgrounds that popped up all over the states. This Route 66 Motel is crazy place for everyone to enjoy. With its village-style configuration, the motel provides nineteen 30-foot-tall tepees made from wood framing, concrete and stucco. Each wigwam comes with its own grass lawn, barbecue pit, and jellybean shaped swimming pool. Located only minutes from hiking in the Redlands, bikign in Big Bear, and sightseeing in Bloomington, California you can enjoy the wild outdoors, and then settle down for sleep in a protected outdoorsy version. A standard queen non-smoking teepee room starts at $63 per night.
