Rock Hill, N.Y. is a lovely community close to many outdoor activities. There are many nearby swimming lakes to choose from, including Lake Louise Marie, Wanaksink Lake and Davis Lake. Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun Park, home of awesome skiing and snowboarding, is only a mile away, in Monticello, N.Y. Rock Hill also offers some great dining establishments.

Bernie's Holiday Restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and classic American food. Enjoy the outside deck when weather permits. Specialties include steaks, pork chops, seafood and poultry. Bernie's Holiday Restaurant welcomes parties and event rentals. To work up an appetite for this great food, try whitewater rafting the 13-mile long stretch of the Neversink River, which begins in Rock Hill and stretches to Oakland Valley.

A.J.'s Pizza the Rock

A.J.'s Pizza the Rock is a mellow Rock Hill pizza joint. There are a ton of pizza toppings to choose from, including anchovies. The huge calzones and hero sandwiches are tasty. The restaurant is large, airy and clean, and the staff is friendly. Close by A.J.'s Pizza the Rock is the Neversink Gorge network of trails, where hikers and bicyclists can view some awesome scenery, including two breathtaking waterfalls.

Dutch's Tavern and Grill

Dutch's Tavern and Grill is a cozy, small-town bar. The tavern has a separate restaurant area for family dining, and it is kid-friendly. Dutch's Tavern and Grill serves up hot, fresh fare, with choices like burgers, sandwiches, wings, chicken strips, nachos and onion rings. Sometimes live music and fun events like the Saint Patrick Day parties are hosted. This bar is close to Emerald Green pool, a great place to go for family swimming while in town.
