The Georgian town of Lymington in Hampshire is situated on an estuary as well as close to the New Forest. Famous as a sailing and boating destination, Lymington boasts a harbor and two marinas. Boating enthusiasts can spend hours on the estuary or out in the open waters of the bay. Walking and hiking enthusiasts will enjoy the New Forest and its hundreds of miles of trails and woodlands. Visit nearby Compton Acres, a 10-acre garden complete with Japanese Gardens, or Roydon Woods to see the hundreds of plant and animal species. Once the most luxurious residence on the south coast of England, Westover Hall kept this exclusivity when it became a boutique hotel.
