Hotels Near Marittima in Venice, Italy
If you are traveling to Venice by cruise ship or ferry and are not planning an extended stay, the Marittima area may be the area for you. The Marittima basin is home to the port of Venice, one of the busiest cruise ports in the Mediterranean. It is a five- to 10-minute walk from the Marittima ship terminal to the Piazzale Roma, the main gateway to the city of Venice. Perfect for tourists who don't want to spend precious travel time and money getting to and from the port, Marittima offers the convenience of staying close to the terminal with the ease of traveling to the historic city center. Once in Venice, enjoy your stay by jogging along the Guidecca Canal and taking in the scenic Venice skyline, exploring the maze-like canals and nearby islands by boat and visiting famous tourist sites such as the Piazzo San Marco.

Best Western Hotel Olimpia

Within walking distance of the Marittima terminal, the three-star Hotel Olimpia is an elegant 16th-century building fronted by a canal, Rio delle Burchielle, and backed by large gardens. Rooms are decorated in timeless 18th-century Venetian style and contain modern amenities such as air-conditioning and flat-panel TVs. To help you get up to speed on Venice, the in-room entertainment includes a free one-hour documentary on touring Venice. Santa Chiara Hotel

The three-star Santa Chiara Hotel is a five-minute walk from the Marittima terminal. The Santa Chiara has many features that are hard to find in other Venetian properties. First, the hotel is not surrounded by other buildings, giving all rooms a panoramic view over the city. Rooms are large, meaning that most rooms can comfortably sleep four adults. The hotel is completely handicapped accessible. This is very rare in Venice due to historical restrictions. Lastly, small pets are welcome. A private garage within the building also stores bicycles. The hotel, overlooking the Grand Canal, is close to the ancient Venetian palace Fondaco dei Turchi, the 17th-century palace Ca' Pesaro and the residential Campo San Giacomo Dell'Orio, a great place to have a cup of expresso or a gelato.
