Port Aransas ("the island") is a small coastal town on the northern tip of Mustang Island, about 45 minutes from downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. Access to the island is via Highway 361 (from Corpus Christi),10-minute ferry service from Aransas Pass or by boat from the Gulf of Mexico. A popular activity around the island includes birding, one of the country's top 12 bird watching sites. Fishing centers around the docks and marinas on Cutter Street at the harbor. Relax on the beach and swim in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 5 miles from Port Aransas.

The Tarpon Inn

The 24-room Tarpon Inn was recently restored, with each room acquiring a unique personality using antique furniture. There is not a TV or phone in each room, but each room has free Wi-Fi. Amenities a the Inn includes an outdoor pool, croquet and horseshoes area. The Tarpon Inn is centrally located in Port Aransas across from the marina. There are several restaurants and the Trout Street Bar & Grill near the marina .Bird watching excursions can be arranged through the two birding centers nearby. Bicycles can be rented within an easy walking distance.

Captain's Quarters Inn

Captain's Quarters Inn is convenient to boating activities, as it is located across from the city docks and on the trolley route. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance. The beach is three quarters of a mile and the birding center is one mile from the Inn. Captain's Quarters have 40 units with refrigerator and microwave in every unit and free continental breakfast. An on-site freezer is available to hold your fishing catch. There is a grilling, seating area and pool for guests use.

Balinese Flats

Balinese Flats, formerly known as "Dolphin Lodge," was completely renovated in 2003. There are two types of accommodations: five "flats" and six "piers." Flats are two- bedroom/one bathroom ground level studios with full kitchens. Piers are one-bedroom suites or studios with views of the ship channel and private docks.
Balinese Flats is within a quarter mile of charter boats, a marina, 24-hour ferry service and restaurants, and one mile from the birding center. Padre Island National Seashore is approximately one mile from the motel.

The Cottages at Seashell Village

The Cottages at Seashell Village are individual cottage units with curbside parking, just outside your cottage. The cottages were among the first accommodations built on the island, with many cottages being updated. Each cottage includes a full kitchen with dishes and utensils. Other amenities included are TV, free Wi-Fi in the rooms, and picnic tables, laundry room and BBQ grills outside. Cottages are 2 blocks from the beach and three quarters of a mile from the marina and birding center.
