San Andres Island, Colombia Hotels

San Andres Island, Colombia Hotels
The archipelago of San Andres is known for its hot, sunny days, expansive white-sand beaches and abundant snorkeling, scuba-diving and hiking opportunities. A popular holiday getaway for Colombian city-dwellers, the archipelago has recently become popular with foreign travelers looking for unique island adventures. The Christmas season and Easter week are packed on San Andres, so you'll want to reserve your hotel far in advance if you plan to visit San Andres during this time. Most visitors choose to visit San Andres as part of an a Decameron all-inclusive package (there are six Decameron resorts on the island), but there are also several excellent non-inclusive lodging options available.

The Decameron San Luis

The Decameron San Luis fronts a beautiful beach and offers breakfast and lunch buffets, a la carte dinners, unlimited alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, three restaurants, four bars, three pools, night shows, activities and sports center, on-site disco, snorkeling, kayaking and three a la carte or buffet meals a day. Guest rooms have air conditioning, cable TV and a mini fridge. It's not a luxury resort, but is a good choice for families.

The Decameron Aquarium

The slightly more upscale Decameron Aquarium consists of several architecturally impressive units built on the water. The resort is located within walking distance to San Andres' commercial district, as well as the island's best restaurants and bars, in case you decide to take a break from resort food. The all-inclusive options offers amenities such as six restaurants, three bars, child and adult pool, discotheque and conference room. The resort has 297 rooms, each equipped with an ocean-view balcony, hairdryer, cable TV, air-conditioning and mini-fridge.
