Blytheville is in northeast Arkansas and the state's Mississippi River Delta region. It's home to steel production, cotton growers and one of author John Grisham's favorite bookstores. To the east are the Mississippi River and its bordering bike trail. To the west are the Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Crowley's Ridge State Park. Dangle your feet in Days Inn Blytheville's outdoor pool after a warm-weather hiking trip at Crowley's Ridge State Park (it's about an hour and a half from Blytheville).The hotel serves a free breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. For dinner, walk across the parking lot to Chinese Buffet or head to nearby Grecian Steak House. Pets under 24 pounds can stay at the Days Inn for a small fee. Room amenities include cable television with HBO and free high-speed Internet access. Local calls are also free.

Holiday Inn Blytheville

This Holiday Inn has two restaurants, two pools and a fitness center all on the premises. Bistro Eleven 21 is the hotel's (and Blytheville's only) fine-dining restaurant; dinner is from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The menu includes fresh fish and Black Angus steaks. There's also a full bar. If you're looking for something more casual after walking the foot trails at nearby Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge, the on-site Perkins Restaurant & Bakery serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Pets are welcome here, but you'll need to make a one-time pet deposit. A courtyard and grassy area are available for leashed dogs to stretch their legs.

Quality Inn

Like other Blytheville hotels, the Quality Inn is just a mile or so from Blytheville's Walker Park. A walking track circles this park, and hungry ducks wait for handouts near the pond. If you're hungry, too, the Quality Inn serves a free continental breakfast and has an on-site Mexican restaurant, Pancho's, that's open for lunch and dinner. You can also grab a drink or two in El Torro, the hotel's lounge. Catch some rays on the sundeck near the seasonal pool. There's a limit of two pets per room, and if you're bringing your furry friends, expect a one-time deposit.
