Restaurants in Bloomfield, New York
Officially incorporated in 1990, the Bloomfield area actually consists of the village of Bloomfield, the towns of East Bloomfield and Holcomb, and the nearby communities of West Bloomfield and South Bloomfield. This semi-rural area in the Finger Lakes Region outside of Rochester hosts not only many perks one would associate with city life but also many exciting opportunities for outdoor recreation. Locally, visitors can enjoy Boughton Park, originally a reservoir but now a great spot for canoeing, hiking and picnicking, and the Scott T Ranch, a scenic farm featuring buffalo and Scottish highland cattle. The nearby area features many other venues for activities such as the Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, Canandaigua Lake, Cumming's Nature Center, Honeoye Lake, Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion and the Harriet Spencer and Letchworth state parks.

The Holloway House

A fine dining restaurant first established in 1808 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Halloway House is a fixture in the life of the Finger Lakes Region. House menu favorites include braised lamb shanks, maple-mustard pork tenderloin, crab cakes and, of course, filet mignon. Specials include a Saturday night four-course dinner for two and a Wednesday night friends-and-family turkey dinner. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. for both lunch and dinner service, Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner only and Sunday from noon to 7:30 p.m. for dinner only. Don't forget to add the famous Holloway House Sally Lunn bread and orange sweet rolls for an extra $1 per person.

Twins Diner

In early 2009, this Bloomfield mainstay may have changed locations to a bigger space, but the food has remained a constant. Run by a set of twins, the menu is heavy on staples such as grilled sandwiches and breakfast food but also features a small dinner menu for Friday night, highlighted by the obligatory fish fry. When visiting, be sure to check out the daily specials written on the whiteboard behind the counter. It is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with extended hours until 8 p.m. Friday.
