California Zephyr
The California Zephyr, operated by Amtrak, is an experience of a lifetime and runs between Chicago, Illinois, and Emeryville, California. The 51 hour trip leaves daily and is one of the most spectacular train trips in North America. The California Zephyr, originating in either Emeryville in the San Francisco Bay Area or Chicago courses through the Rocky Mountains, Winter Park, the Sierra Nevadas and Glenwood Canyon. Package tours are available, which include transportation and all meals along the way. The California Zephyr has a cafe, lounge, snack bars, dinette and full dining car for you to choose from. The Superliner Bedroom Suite sleeps up to four people and includes a large picture window to view the spectacular scenery along the way. The suite includes two in-room toilets and two showers, along with personal services, such as, coffee, daily newspaper and turn-down service.
