All areas of Massachusetts are rich in natural resources. In Boston, the Charles River Reservation runs from Boston Harbor up river for 20 miles. Activities include walking, hiking, canoeing, inline skating, kayaking and biking. Cape Cod has miles of beaches and Nickerson State Park with camping, hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing and fishing. Northhampton is in the northern part of the state and is near the Rainbow Beach Conservation Area and in the northeast, near Worcester, there is Lake Quinsigamond State Park with swimming, sailing, picnicking and fishing. All of the areas have steakhouses for a hearty meal after a long day. The restaurants can be formal, for a change of pace, or casual, where you can kick back and relax.

Mooo Restaurant

Mooo Restaurant is located just a couple blocks from the Charles River. The restaurant is upscale with a dressy style. A private room can accommodate up to 75 guests. The menu features New York sirloin, filet mignon, rib eye, Delmonico, sirloin au poivre, beef Wellington, Wiener schnitzel, Cornish game hen, grilled salmon, Maine lobster and seared sea scallops. Prices in 2009 range from about $24 to $120.

North Street Steakhouse

North Street Steakhouse on Cape Cod is just north of Lewis Bay. The restaurant has two levels with a combined seating capacity of more than 250. The style and atmosphere are casual with 32-inchTVs in the bar areas for keeping up with sports activities. The menu features porterhouse, bond in sirloin, filet mignon, surf and turf, country fried steak, lobster macaroni and cheese, pan-seared Atlantic salmon, pork chops and half of a free-range chicken. Prices in 2009 range from about $15 to $26.

Eastside Grill

The Eastside Grill has been opened since 1985 and is not far from the Rainbow Beach Conservation Area. The restaurant has two dining rooms, an outdoor patio and a bar area. The style and atmosphere is casual and family-friendly. The menu features Eastside sirloin, Delmonico, blackened rib eye, blackened sirloin tips and scallops, shrimp al fresco, crab dumplings, basked Atlantic cod with lobster bisque and butternut squash ravioli. Prices in 2009 range from about $9 to $22.

One Eleven Chophouse

One Eleven Chophouse is located west of Lake Quinsigamond and south of Chandler Hill Park. The style is upscale business-casual, and the restaurant has an extensive wine list. The menu features prime New York sirloin, filet mignon, prime porterhouse, prime rib, boneless rib eye, mixed grill, surf and turf, rack of lamb, braised lamb shank, mango pork, Nantucket bay scallops, grilled swordfish, scallop and spinach stuffed haddock, and prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast. Prices in 2009 range from about $20 to $40.
