Dog Friendly Hotels in Delaware

Dog Friendly Hotels in Delaware
As the first state to ratify the Constitution in 1787, Delaware has a rich and vibrant history, evident in its scenic landscapes, dynamic culture, and architectural heritage. While it may be the second smallest state in the United States, its unique geographic perimeter, which borders the Atlantic Ocean, Delaware Bay, along with Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, offers a lush and diverse backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts and their four-legged companions in every season.

The Homestead at Rehoboth Bed and Breakfast

The Homestead at Rehoboth Bed and Breakfast is a charming adult only pet-friendly retreat, located on two acres of lush open space, within five miles of Cape Henlopen State Park and the Delaware Seashore State Park. Founded in 1682 by William Penn, Cape Henlopen is one of the nation's first public parks, offering 5193-acres of pine forests, salt marshes, walking dunes, hiking trails, a pristine coastline and the remnants of its historical past. Once a World War II military base, the park is also home to a number of former military bunkers and an observational tower with sweeping views of the surrounding area. Just south of Cape Henlopen lies a six-mile stretch of narrow shoreline, between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. Declared a state park in 1965, the Delaware seashore is a rare find for water enthusiasts---offering fishing, crabbing, windsurfing, sailing, surf fishing, and one of the few designated surf breaks in the state of Delaware. Both parks welcome four-legged friends and after a day of adventure, The Homestead Bed and Breakfast has an on-site pet shower and an Inner Balance Massage Studio for relaxation and rejuvenation featuring hot stone massage, deep-tissue massage, Indian massage, Reiki and Embodyment. As of 2009, rooms at The Homstead start around $120 a night and $20 per pet per reservation, which includes a complimentary continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi.
