Log cabins can give hikers and outdoor enthusiasts a sense of remaining in the wilds of the past while enjoying the amazing trails and sites of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The city of Asheville has easy-access routes to the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as a wide variety of other outdoor activities ranging from golfing to whitewater rafting and cycling year round. Nearby skiing is subject to annual snowfall.

Log Cabin & Motor Court

Near one of the northern entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway and three miles from downtown Asheville, the Log Cabin & Motor Court offers historic one and two-bedroom cabins built in the 1930s. Many of the log cabins have kitchens and wood-burning fireplaces. Pets are welcomed with a $15 per night fee.

Barkwells

Barkwells is a pet-friendly log cabin property that is located near the Asheville airport on eight acres of fenced-in meadows situated on a small pond. Hot tubs, porches with rocking chairs and fireplaces are available with each cabin. The cabins are fully equipped and furnished. Pets can be left in a fenced area while hikers hit the many nearby trails in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains or visit nearby Asheville, which is about 20 minutes from the property. On-site therapeutic massage also is available after a tough day on the trails.

Pines Cottages

Less than three miles from downtown Asheville and close to a number of Blue Ridge Parkway entrances, the Pines Cottages are right off a major thoroughfare leading into Asheville; yet provide a secluded, wooded setting. Picnic tables and an outdoor grill provide opportunities for guests to continue enjoying the mild North Carolina temperatures year round.

The town of Candler is a suburb of Asheville that is in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains. The solid wood log cabins are on a secluded property and feature queen beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, handmade quilts and gas-log fireplaces. Each cabin has a private, covered porch replete with a hot tub and gas grill. The cabins afford spectacular views of the Pisgah National Forest and rocking chairs for guests to watch the amazing sunsets and sunrises.
